Remember my fight with Amazon music?

In this post, I wrote about my failed attempts to download the albums I bought as downloads from Amazon UK. It really looked as if I was going to have to download my music one track at a time.

Then I discovered I could download the albums via the My Orders page!

See? However, a search for a specific group etc. got me a page without the download button:

I spent a lot of time yesterday scrolling through years of orders in order to find the downloads. It seems to have stopped working during the orders from 2013, but at least I got all the downloads from then on.

comments

Wow, Amazon doesn't make it easy, does it? Remember my new computer? Of course I wasn't going to save all my downloaded music to a flash drive to put on my new computer. I could just go and download all my music again. No muss, no fuss! Click a few buttons and off I go. Right?

No.

Amazon have their own music app, which you can download. Only I never liked the clunky interface so I download the music directly to my pc and stick in my music. Only now Amazon really wants you to use that app.

You can download your music directly...but it's track by every single track. Click the menu dots, click download, click download directly, and there you go! 3 clicks per track multiplied by tracks on the album multiplied by however many albums you've bought.

This might take awhile.

comments

I subscribed to ITV hub via Amazon because it had a number of series I wanted to watch. As it turns out, the subscription is a bit hit and miss. You click on a season only to find half the eps aren't available. You go back the next day and find the ep you were halfway through isn't available any more.

There's a lot of 70s/80s stuff (yay), but far more reality series than I thought even existed. I'm not a fan.

I think I'll watch what I can and then cancel it.

On the plus side, seasons 3 and 4 of The Professionals are now available to buy on Amazon Video. I wonder when seasons 1, 2, and 5 will follow.

Another plus, I managed to catch Ken Colley's ep of Poirot (The Disappearance of Mr. Davenheim) before that, too, disappeared. The ending was very obvious but Ken Colley acted his socks off, so I enjoyed it. He also got to wear a big fake beard.

comments

I'm still watching Leverage on Amazon Prime and I'm up to season 3. I watched the first 3 episodes without a problem, then tried to watch ep 4, The Scheherazade Job (Wadata, a West African country, has an honest President, Simeon Moto, about to be term-limited out of office).

To my surprise, I got The Double Blind Job (Nate and the team runs a con against a corrupt CEO of a pharmaceuticals company who is marketing a product which could kill thousands). I watched it anyway as I hadn't seen it before and I thought I'd see The Scheherazade Job when I played ep 5.

No, I got The Double Blind Job ep again. I doublechecked and it definitely played the same ep twice under 2 different titles. I carried on watching the episodes but thought I'd better let Amazon know so they could fix it.

That turned out to be more difficult than I expected. I spoke to one person, then got passed to another. Simon asked me to log out then back in to check if it still happened, then asked if I'd checked the episode descriptions aganst their Wiki page.

Um... It's the same ep playing twice. I pulled up the IMDb page and prepared to go all Hardison on his ass, but he hurriedly handed me over Jency who said she'd get it fixed and thanks for reporting it. That was all I wanted.

comments
