366 Question Meme for 2020 - 3rd & 4th July
3. What small courtesy did someone pay you today?
The carers last night when they had to come back after my last call. The multisocket including the plug for my bed had been a little bit dislodged when they plugged in my wheelchair to recharge. They left and I realised my bed remote didn't work. I rang the office and the carers came back and fixed it. They were really nice about it.
4. What's your favorite musical?
The Slipper and the Rose. A beautifully lavish musical production from 1976 starring Gemma Craven as Cinderella and Richard Chamberlain as Prince Edward.
It has a star-studded cast, with Margaret Lockwood as the wicked stepmother, Edith Evans as the Dowager Queen, Michael Hordern as the King, Kenneth More as the Lord High Chamberlain, Annette Crosby as the Fairy Godmother, and the director's daughter's dog as Fred the dog.
It also features the best tongue-twisting song since Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious called Protocoligorically Correct.

The first time I saw it, I thought that - fond though I am of Kenneth More! - he had no business singing and dancing. Watching it again years later though, I see that it's perfectly in character for both him and Michael Hordern to have that stiffness.
Nice to se Mr Davenport from "Rentaghost" getting stuck in there.
(Still think the film is too long though!) :p

Oh, yeah. The King can't dance for toffee! I love his alarmed look when the others are up, dancing on the table.
Mr Davenport from "Rentaghost". Is he the tall gent in salmon? (I love his head jiggle!) He was a scientist in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

That movie is so much fun and quite cheeky for a version of Cinderella!

I love all the humour in The Slipper and the Rose.
