I just finished filling in a survey which was mostly about TV, and the last question was: Who do you think would win in a fight? King Kong or Godzilla?

Me: Whut?

I had to go with "I don't know."

Normally, YouGov is so serious. It really made me smile.

I've just watched Jumanji: The Next Level, the 3rd film in the franchise.

I really like the 1st Jumanji (with Robin Williams), but I found the 2nd (with the Rock) to be far funnier. Link to my review.

This one was a sequel to the 2nd, but not as good, IMO.

Spoilers ahoy!

3. What small courtesy did someone pay you today?
The carers last night when they had to come back after my last call. The multisocket including the plug for my bed had been a little bit dislodged when they plugged in my wheelchair to recharge. They left and I realised my bed remote didn't work. I rang the office and the carers came back and fixed it. They were really nice about it.

4. What's your favorite musical?
The Slipper and the Rose. A beautifully lavish musical production from 1976 starring Gemma Craven as Cinderella and Richard Chamberlain as Prince Edward.

It has a star-studded cast, with Margaret Lockwood as the wicked stepmother, Edith Evans as the Dowager Queen, Michael Hordern as the King, Kenneth More as the Lord High Chamberlain, Annette Crosby as the Fairy Godmother, and the director's daughter's dog as Fred the dog.

It also features the best tongue-twisting song since Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious called Protocoligorically Correct.

10. What was the last film you saw at a theatre/cinema?

Uh, possibly The Return of the King. Yes, the LOTR one. I know! I don't get out much.

I recently read that Peter Jackson (the director) is an arachnophobe so he based Shelob (huge, ultra-terrifying spider) on all the spider attributes he found most terrifying.

Thanks for that, Peter!

4. What one thing are you looking forward to in 2020?

The latest Jumanji. I really enjoyed the 2017 version, so I hope the 2019 one is as good.

Have any of you guys seen this? I watched it last night and I howled with laughter.

I really like the original Jumanji film but this one, IMO, is far funnier.

Warning: spoilers.

I saw the How It Should Have Ended video for Jurassic Park on YouTube ( https://youtu.be/xQrRg3LtjXY ) the other day. I've never seen the actual film before. I've seen clips and know the story but it never really appealed to me. I got curious about how it all started, so I ended up watching the film.

It was more enjoyable than I expected but I'm really posting to share this bit of trivia from the IMBd:

The T. Rex occasionally malfunctioned, due to the rain. Producer Kathleen Kennedy recalls, "The T. Rex went into the heebie-jeebies sometimes. Scared the crap out of us. We'd be, like, eating lunch, and all of a sudden a T. Rex would come alive. At first we didn't know what was happening, and then we realized it was the rain. You'd hear people start screaming."

From thousands of miles away, that sounds hilarious.

(Shortened version of the article.)
William Kamkwamba was born in 1987 in Dowa, Malawi, and grew up on his family's farm in Masitala Village, Wimbe.

When he  was 14, in 2001, his parents couldn't afford to send him to school any more, so he turned to his local library for books. After reading a book on windmills and turbine power, he was determined to build one to power his family's home and farm, which was without any electricity at all.

"Subsequent projects have included clean water, malaria prevention, solar power and lighting for the six homes in his family compound; a deep water well with a solar powered pump for clean water, a drip irrigation system, and the outfitting of the village team Wimbe United with their first ever uniforms and shoes."

His autobiography is on Amazon UK for 99p. (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Boy-Who-Harnessed-Wind-ebook/dp/B003IDMUJA/ref=la_B002BRKQEK_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1556613232&sr=1-1)
