The Great Game Of Britain! My whole family was mad on that game. You're a train, and you're dealt cards at the start that tell you which stations around Britain you have to pass through. You have to throw a certain number on the dice to pass through stations, and you have to catch ferries occasionally, and change to different rail gauges. One side of the board is steam, and the other is express. It sounds a bit dull, but it was brilliant, and we all loved it. Also Beat The Black Ball, though I'm not sure that was a board game exactly. You spin a black ball in a funnel, and when it stops spinning, it drops through a hole at the bottom. You're waiting with a marble poised, and you have to send your marble rolling down a slope to get "home" before the black ball. The narrower your squeak, the higher your points. Cluedo was good too though, certainly! We also had a fun one called Microdot, where you were a spy, and one called Buccaneer, where you were a pirate. It had "real" treasure! (little coloured glass shapes).
We played a lot of board games when I was a kid! Part and parcel of growing up in the middle of nowhere a million years ago, I guess.
