30 – Do you have a favorite fic you've written? What makes it your favorite? And don't forget to give us a link.

Starting Over.

8-yr-old John is 10-yr-old Sherlock's half-brother. The story has John going to live with Sherlock and Mycroft.

So why do I love it so much?

29 – What is your current project or projects?

What, all of them? Uh... Check under the cut as this will be long.

28 – Have you ever collaborated with anyone else, whether writing together, or having an artist work on a piece about your fic?

Nope. I hoped to once, but it never came off.
dimity_blue: (Cat - TalesBook)
Yep, I know; I took a break from this. I only have a few days to go so I might as well continue. :oD

27 – Where is your favorite place to write, and do you write by hand or on the computer?

Favourite place: At my desk...which is where my pc is. I type my stories straight onto my pc. I type faster than I write, so I feel my stories flow better, and I don't have to try to decipher my writing later.
dimity_blue: (Cat - TalesBook)
26 – What is the oddest (or funniest) thing you've had to research for a fic?

Cheese rolling, and ye age olde annual tradition of chucking oneself down a steep hill in pursuit of said cheese. Apparently, the inhabitants of Cooper's Hill in Gloucestershire have been doing this for a few hundred years now.

[livejournal.com profile] leesa_perrie posted a Sentinel challenge about (IIRC) Jim and Blair going on a weird holiday and since there isn't much (IMO) that beats chasing cheese down a steep hill, that's the one I went with.

25 – Music – Do you listen to music while you write? Do you make playlists to get into a certain "mood" to write your fic? Do you need noise in general? Or do you need it completely quiet?

I need complete quiet. Uh, this probably sounds incredibly silly, but I pretend to be the character, so I try to think and feel what they'd think and feel about whatever's going on around them.

Yeah. I'll just show myself out now.
dimity_blue: (Cat - TalesBook)
24 – Betaing – How many betas do you like to use to make sure there aren't any major flaws in your fic? Do you have a Beta horror story or dream story?

Um...hmm... This is embarrassing. I don't have any beta readers. I used to, but real life took over and they got busy. Now I proofread as much as I can, spellcheck, and hope I won't spot anything too awful after I've posted.
