Why did you start writing fanfic?
Why do you write fanfic?
How do you choose fandoms and why do you choose them?
Do you have themes or plot devices you return to?
Do you have any pet peeves?
Which story/stories are you the most proud over and why?
Why did you start writing fanfic?
Before getting into fandom, I'd always made up fanfic in my head but never knew that's what it was called. Once I started writing my stories out, I enjoyed it so much I've been doing it ever since.
Why do you write fanfic?
It's fun. I also like exploring the 'what if' in my stories.
How do you choose fandoms and why do you choose them?
I don't choose fandoms. I write stories that grab me so much I need to write them out.
Do you have themes or plot devices you return to?
I always want to include bathrooms in my stories. People in fiction rarely have bladders. (Trapped in an elevator for 17 hours but no one needs to pee?!)
Do you have any pet peeves?
Yes! Spell the characters' names right. Get their eye colour right too. And watch out for dialogue tags. You don't need "He asked/requested/demanded/pleaded/snorted/laughed/mumbled" every time someone says something. Also, it's okay to use "said".
Which story/stories are you the most proud over and why?
Usually, my latest story. When I finish a story, I know how long it took me to write and the struggles are fresh in my mind. The slow slog of typing with a mouse doesn't help. So I'm always rather astonished and pleased I've got to the end.
