Just to let you all know that I've changed my name...my fandom name that is. So Arnie or Arnie1967 is now Dimity Blue. I hope you like it. :oD

I've been thinking about it for a while. 'Arnie' was a nickname given to me in my first online fandom, but it's often led to confusion as people assume I'm male. Plus, I'm not a fan of anyone called Arnold! Well, maybe Arnold J. Rimmer (Red Dwarf) but maybe 'fan' is the wrong word there.

Dimity is one of the bells in Dorothy L. Sayers' book, The Nine Tailors, and I've always thought it was pretty. Blue just seemed to go with it. So, Dimity Blue. :oD

Tis a very pretty name, lyrical. I like it. Of course it will take a bit for me to get my brain to link old & new but it will get there eventually. You might want to perhaps post on TSstoryfinders, or have someone do it for you to announce the name change if you're going to go change it on CL or susan's site. Just an idea.

I've toyed with changing my nom de plume before, as the first part was known to relatives before I got so involved in fandom online & some of them I'm not comfy with them perhaps knowing what I get up to online. But I always chicken out partly because I'm uber-indecisive & choosing a new name would be hard. And because, well, this name is a mix of me & fannish me.

Actually, I hadn't thought about that. I'm deliberating whether or not to change my name on my posted fanfic on my own website, or just use Dimity Blue from now on, with a note on the homepage of my website. As I'm not writing TS fic at the moment, it'd save me a ton of work if I leave them as they are.

Heh, took me a few minutes to figure out who this new person on my friends page was... I actually went to your user info and got the answer there! It's very pretty, Sarah -- did you know it is the name of a fabric? It's used in a Gilbert & Sullivan song from, I think, The Pirates of Penzance. "Lace & dimity..." I like the Dorothy Sayers usage too! I'd forgotten the names of the bells.
