But I was making myself a cheese roll (bread roll) yesterday and suddenly wondered how nice it'd be if I stuck the whole thing in the microwave once it was made. So I did.

Oh good grief! Warm bread roll with melted cheese. I had it again today.

I've found a new comfort food.

Cooked cheese sandwiches! Yes, me and my sisters discovered that at some point in our teens. I still like it on occasion, although I have a pesky allergy that means I can only have melted cheese if it's not cows, so I have to wait till I can get some proper plain Ewes or Goats cheese - but it is nice!

I love cheese on toast! Doing it this way though, the bread roll isn't crispy at all, just warm and melty. Cheese on crumpets doesn't do it for me at all though - I prefer buttered crumpets.

Yes, I do miss being able to melt ordinary cheese. (Apparently my body recognises cheese as milk when it's melted but not when it's cheese.) Both are fine - the difficulty is getting the plain stuff and not really fancy cheese that's either too soft or somehow really resistant to any actual melting.
