M - Name a character that you’d like to have for a friend.
B - A pairing–platonic, romantic or sexual–that you initially didn’t consider, but someone changed your mind.
S - Show us an example of your personal head canon (prompts optional but encouraged)
M - Name a character that you’d like to have for a friend.
Hmm... Mrs. Hudson (Sherlock). She seems so ordinary, and yet she was a drug lord's wife and has the wherewithal to trick CIA agents who smack her around and threaten her life. She's a woman you should never underestimate.
B - A pairing–platonic, romantic or sexual–that you initially didn’t consider, but someone changed your mind.
Mrs. Hudson and Greg Lestrade as friends. I hadn't given it any thought at all, then saw this picture of Rupert Graves joking around wearing Mrs. Hudson's hat.

I bet Greg calls in now and then for a cuppa and to make sure Sherlock hasn't blown the place up.

For a non-Sherlock answer, Jim and Blair from The Sentinel. I think Jim kind of views Blair as an annoying little brother. He thinks there are times when Blair has no sense at all, so Jim needs to be on hand to pull Blair out of whatever mess he's gotten himself into. But, when the chips are down, Jim can rely on Blair to have his back.
