Yes, I know it's Sunday.

How many pets have you had at one time?
Lord! Uh, 7? 6 cats and a dog. Hobbes (my one and only dog) was at the bottom of the pecking order.

What is the strangest pet you have ever had?
I've always had cats, so Hobbes qualifies as the strangest since he was a dog. (He wasn't strange for a dog.)

What is the coolest trick you have ever taught a pet?
Oh dear. No tricks. Hobbes understood sit and stay. To a point. When you backed away (to take a photo, for instance), he knew he had to stay sitting so he'd shuffle forward on his bum until he was at your feet again. So, he understood stay but not stay there.

Real animals: What animal have you always wanted as a pet?
Cats. I grew up with a cat, I've always had cats.

Imaginary animals: Describe the ideal pet, an animal that doesn't really exist.
A cat that doesn't need a cat litter tray and doesn't shed fur.

Dogs are always at the bottom of the pecking order when there's cats in the house, poor Hobbes!!

Oh yes, a cat that doesn't shed fur or need a litter tray would be wonderful! :)

I didn't realise you'd owned a dog, poor Hobbes being ruled over by all those cats LOL.

Strange pets is an odd question. What makes a pet strange? My family once had a dog whose favourite foods were boiled eggs (with the shell) and cucumber. Also I had a cat who was an absolute fiend for sundried tomato bread. Also sultanas. I suppose that's a bit unusual.

I've never managed to teach dogs any tricks either. You seem to have done better than me though! I had a black labrador as a kid, who was a wonderful dog, truly. He never did learn "stay", though. Or "sit". Bless him, he had the brain of a gnat!

Most of the cats quite liked him. It was only Star who smacked him whenever Hobbes looked at him. Poor Hobbes.

Most of them liked him. Star was older when I got Hobbes, so Star never took to him.

Yeah, it doesn't really explain it well.

Some dogs can learn anything. I suppose it's inevitable that some can't learn a thing!

True! The people who lived opposite had a collie, who I swear was smarter than some humans I've met. When my parents first married, they had a collie/Alsatian cross, who was at least as smart as their children! He was very old by the time I came along, and I barely remember him, but there wasn't a lot he couldn't do. He was basically my nanny before I started school.

That's not the first time I've heard about a smart dog basically being nanny. How cute!
