dimity_blue...and I've already had a scam phonecall.
James from BT with a strong Indian accent just called about the error messages they're getting from my router. I said I wasn't with BT, though I am.
He said yes, he knew, but BT Telecom blah blah blah.
I said, "You liar!"
Would you believe he hung up on me?

I did have someone call about my car payment being overdue; I told them that was funny, because I don't even have a car. They just said "okay, okay" and hung up.

I had one about 18 months ago, I kept saying, "I'm not interested," louder and louder and louder, and he just kept talking and talking and talking like I wasn't there. I finally shouted, "NO!" at him and hung up. And he called me back to be pissed that I shouted at him, and I said, "If you don't respond to what I'm saying, what do you expect?"
I don't know how those cold spam calls make any money, nowadays. I have all my numbers in my phone. If it rings, and I don't know the number, I don't answer -- and most people I've talked to say the same thing. You'd think the spammers would eventually give up.
