IT IT IT! Loved the book and the TV miniseries about it. Yeah, I like horror but of the psychological form of the genre - not the slice and dice versions going for the cheap recoil responses. Those don't qualify.

Oh, HIM! I only heard about him the other day. Good grief! He was totally pathetic with that 'open source' boob thing. I can't believe anyone joined in with it!

That's what upset me about the entire thing. Not that there was a male so adolescent as to wish society allowed him to fondle strange women in public but that one idiot could co-opt what little sense remained in his co-horts of both sexes and rampage around a Con like that.

I hope the Con organizers read all this stuff and write him that he won't be welcomed back again. Even fantasy and fun events require a small degree of decorum. How hard is it to expect adults to be able to recite to themselves, "I will not molest anyone today...I will not..."

The ease with which people will dispense with all common sense and civility given the slightest encouragement by another party is what makes be think back to the Shirley Jackson short story called "The Lottery". That short tale of horror was the first time I realized that people in groups behave in ways no individual would ever think to behave.
