Mine was "Happy Together" by the Turtles. I didn't recognise the name or song, but I recognised the song when I listened to it on YouTube. Not one of my favourites.

You can borrow mine, if you like. Or check out the UK charts to find the UK number 1 for you.

The page has links to other years.

I checked mine, and it was by Engelbert Humperdinck! "Please Release Me". Which is highly appropriate as I was about 3 weeks late being born. :oD

Ah American Number ones, I know mine was "Runaway" by Del Shannon in the UK chart. That site gave me "Tossin' and Turnin'" by Bobby Lewis.

Mark's would suit your icon ;-) "I'm a Believer" which was #1 in both charts.

I love the Monkees! They were such a fun group. Lucky Mark. :oD

I also checked out the UK number one for my birth date. Engelbert Humperdinck singing "Please Release Me"! I think I'll stick to the Turtles!

Yeah it's shame it's not yours, if you'd been born a few months earlier it could have been yours too - you and Mark are the same age! Youngsters ;-)

Mine was Donny Osmond. Donny Osmond! It's like having Satan's handmaiden sing your birthday song while wearing a leisure suit.

I am supposed to be a respectable metalhead. I have concussionary difficulties from too much headbanging in the 80s! AAAAAAAAHHHH!
