1) What is your favorite noise to hear?

Music, or laughter.

2) If you could live in any era of time, what would you choose and why?

Now, or maybe the near future, as I wouldn't like to live without mod-cons (especially my PC), although I would change my personal circumstances.

3) You just found $50 while cleaning your house. Where do you decide to spend it?

Well, I'd probably spend it ON books, CDs or DVDs, and where would depend on which shop had what I wanted.

4) What magazines to you subscribe to/read on a normal basis?

Cross Stitcher, Cross Stitch Collection Gold, Friends of the Chalet School subscription magazine.

5) If you could witness any event in history, but not change anything about it, what would you choose and why?

The Moon Landing. It really must have felt as though we were 'stepping into' a brand new era.

Probably on my kids, going out to eat, or a Sentinel fanzine (waiting for one to come in the mail as a matter of fact)

None

5) If you could witness any event in history, but not change anything about it, what would you choose and why?

LOL! That was my reaction too. It's extremely unlikely I'd 'find' $50 (or the UK equivalent) while cleaning. I mean, the cleaning itself is so unlikely too! :oD

Ah, another cross stitcher! I've been doin' it for about 40 years. Is there any particular thing you're really interested in? Have you gone into the fan stitery stuff that has TS patterns (from artists like Suzan Lovett)?

I've got thousands of patterns from over the years, but with this damn disability I can't hold a needle much anymore as my hand goes numb. Even the larger needles with needlepoint are getting too hard to hold. Which leaves me with tons of material, patterns and thread just sitting there. If I can pass something on, I'd love to.

Ooh! ::hugs fellow cross stitch fan:: I haven't been stitching for that long, although I have been stitching, off and on, for about 14 years, I think.

I like a variety of stuff although I've done quite a few cat and Winnie the Pooh kits. :oD I like Egyptian stuff too, and I've got a couple of wolf kits waiting for me to get started on them. Actually, I have a filing cabinet full of kits that I can't bear to part with and want to do 'someday'. ::blushes:: At the moment though, I'm stitching a set of small dragons for [livejournal.com profile] raphe1 for Christmas.

It sucks that you're having trouble stitching. :o( What about tapestry, would that be easier to do? If not, are there any aids that can help you with holding the needle?

Thanks for offering to send me some of your stuff, but I really hope that you can find something to help you continue stitching. ::hugs::

I guessed it was supposed to be 'fan stitchery'. :oD And I think that the only one I've seen is the Red Heron poster. Do you have a link for other stuff? I'd love to see what they've got! :oD

Elaine Walker has a great site going where she contacts fan artists and then does some oif their work in gorgeous stitches. She has patterns from a bunch of fandoms, including TS. I have an x rated J/B *g*, and a lovely Clark/Lex that I got for my partner. The site is: http://fanstitch.slashzone.org, That's a new site, she just switched from her old one.

I believe her email is ElaineWalker@fanstitch.slashzone.org (but that's off the top of my head, so if her email isn't right let me know and I'll go look it up).

She's a sweetie, helped me when I couldn't get my hands on a couple of colors here in this little hick town. I think she's from New Zealand. Her prices are terrific, too. And she's always looking for new artists and suggestions. When I wanted that particular Clark/Lex, she got ahold of Suzan Lovett (who is a friend of mine) and got permission and did an incredible job on the pattern, based on Suzan's art.

Give her site a look, I really liked it, but haven't gone there lately as it's like window shopping for a Porsche, ya know? Looking at things I can't have!

Ooh, thanks for the link! The site looks good, and the patterns look fantastic. I'm really tempted already. ::tries to resist the lure of TS *and* cross stitch:: :o\
