Yep, I know, I've commented on this one before. However, I just had to vent share this one with you.

At the end of an email all about how some things are worth saving, there was this:

I received this from someone who thinks I am a 'keeper', so I've sent it to the people I think of in the same way.. Now it's your turn to send this to those people that are "keepers" in your life Good friends are like stars.... You don't always see them, but you know they are always there.

Keep them close!

Nothing wrong with that, right? Well, if you ignore the hint of "you'd better send this back to me because I sent it to you". However, the last item on this list really got my goat.

TEN THINGS GOD WON'T ASK ON THAT DAY.

1... God won't ask what kind of car you drove. He'll ask how many people you drove who didn't have transportation.

2... God won't ask the square footage of your house, He'll ask how many people you welcomed into your home.

3... God won't ask about the clothes you had in your closet, He'll ask how many you helped to clothe.

4... God won't ask what your highest salary was. He'll ask if you compromised your character to obtain it.

5... God won't ask what your job title was. He'll ask if you performed your job to the best of our ability.

6... God won't ask how many friends you had. He'll ask how many people to whom you were a friend.

7... God won't ask in what neighborhood you lived, He'll ask how you treated your neighbors.

8... God won't ask about the color of your skin, He'll ask about the content of your character.

9... God won't ask why it took you so long to seek Salvation.
He'll lovingly take you to your mansion in heaven, and not to the gates of Hell.

10... God won't have to ask how many people you forwarded this to, He already knows your decision.

Yes, I'm sure that when I get to the Pearly Gates, God is going to be concerned with the spam I sent on.

For shame, Sarah! Not believing God is terribly concerned with how you spam your friends! O ye of little faith! (tongue firmly in cheek)

Shame on me, Ande, I should have known better. :o( From now on, I swear to bombard all of my friends with as much spam as I can possibly find.

Now, if I only had *your* email address....

Don't you love those? I once made the HUGE mistake of telling my mother in law that I enjoy her countless emails she forwards to me. I get around 10 each day just from her. All those wishy washy feel good ones.

I don't even open them anymore. I'm sure I'll have to answer for it some day. ;)

Ten a *day*?! I'd be going bonkers with that amount. Actually, I suspect I'd label her address as spam and get my server to automatically bounce it (then claim I have no idea why that's happening).

I don't blame you for deleting them unread either. Ten a day - holy moly!

::groan:: Oh, God!! *grin* Hey, look on the bright side, God spammers are a lot easier to delete than the 'God botherer's' who come knocking on the door. I think I offended the last one when I asked for her address just so I could pop in one Sunday morning for a good old chin wag! *g*

ROFL! For some reason, they're not so keen on having you come to them, are they? It's weird, considering that they consider it their God-given duty to stand on *your* doorstep!

*rolls eyes* Don't forget, God will also know if you're naughty or nice, so you'd better be good 'cause he checks that list twice... Sheesh!

That sort of emotional blackmail is really low. Like pond-scum low. I'd have words with whomever felt self-rightous enough to send that to me. (Or conversly, I'd have a long, gentle sit down with whomever felt brow-beat into sending it along)

I didn't want to say 'emotional blackmail' in my post, but that was how it struck me - and I wondered if I was over-reacting to it. I'm glad to see that it wasn't just me who saw it that way.

I've mentioned this friend in my LJ before. She sends every single piece of junk that she gets in her inbox to me. She's cut back on hoax emails though, since I started sending her links to show that they were fake. However, I'm still getting the "you're my bestest friend in the world EVAH!" type emails plus the cutesy pictures type emails too.
