I've heard various people ask about Spider, the solitaire card game, mainly "how many suits do you play with?". So, out of curiosity, I'm asking the same thing, and a few questions more.

I was wondering what Spider 'game' you meant, but the suits tipped me off you were talking about Spider Solitaire. *g* ...Um, that is the one, right? My father plays it all the time; I used to, but it was too involved and convoluted for me (and the four suits is a nightmare to even think about, OMG, the sheer number of possible combinations ); give good ol' FreeCell (http://www.freeonlinegames.com/puzzle-games/freecell-solitaire.html) (er, the one installable on Win, obviously, not this version I just scroogled for you) any day, at least there all games are guaranteed to be solvable.

Oops! I didn't even think to specify "the solitaire card game"! Thanks for pointing that out.

FreeCell is a good game too. I have a weakness for solitaire card games. :oD

I love SPider Solitaire. I used to play FreeCell all the time but this has replaced it. Two suits is all my brain can cope with. It's a great time waster.

I like FreeCell a lot, but I think Spider is far better. As for a time waster, definitely! :oD

I loved Spider when I still had Windows as OS...Something which took my mind away from things, until I could think clearly again...

It's a good distraction, that's for sure.

I love Spider! I used to play it with actual cards when I was a kid.

I've only ever played it on the computer. I used to play it via an eGames CD Rom I had - it had over 250 solitaire card games on there. I should imagine it'd be almost impossible to win while playing with cards as there's no way to backtrack.

I've rarely played the default card games with windows because I had a programme called Pretty Good Solitaire which had 100s of different patience games and had auto play for some moves which is really useful. Used enjoy the variants of Demon and Double Freecell.

Sadly this new PC doesn't support my ancient version any more so I'd have to buy a new version to play it.

That's one of the most annoying things about upgrading your computer - finding which programmes you had that no longer work! Grrr! Is it possible to download a patch for it? According to a friend of mine, my old eGames CD Roms should play, as long as I tell them to play as if the OS isn't Vista. I still need to load them all in and try it.

Thanks for the link! Yet more ways for me to procrastinate. :oD
