Y'know, I've been wondering why Jim and/or Simon doesn't plan to get a good woodworker to fill in those holes. He could patch and sand and stain, and the mask would be almost as good as new. And I'm pretty sure that the old mask has memories for Blair that a new one wouldn't be able to match.

My bunny is insistent; I think I'll have to write it for my next dues. Fortunately, it should be short. Once I finish this Secret Santa story, I won't have much time before the deadline.

My apologies; I didn't mean to suggest that you should change your story. I like the way it's going, too. Just, you know how it goes -- one idea sparks another, and the muse is off and running. I meant the "different story" for me, not you.

Gee, I think Simon should bring Jim in on the decision, since it will probably have a place of honor hanging in the loft. And Jim could probably pick out the least butt-ugly one. LOL!!
