Hot water and Christmas ornaments
Dec. 29th, 2010 08:08 pmMy hot water seems to be back to normal, thankfully. I haven't noticed any signs of a leak. If there is one, it's in the utility room but I can't see it. Hopefully that means there isn't one.
And I got a parcel today from a friend of mine. Every year, she gives me and some of her friends (heck, all of her friends for all I know) the latest Christmas tree ornament from the White House Historical Association range. They are, without a doubt, some of the most gorgeous ornaments I've seen. Last year, she mislaid the ones she'd bought, so she sent last year's and this year's together.
Check under the cut for my favourites and for the two I got this year.

This is the first one I received, so it's got to be a favourite.

Every year, I keep on thinking, "It'll have to be good to compare to last year's..." and it always is. This one, though, took my breath away.

If you like Victoriana (and I do!), then this one really fits the bill.

The blue snowflakes surrounding are in this rare grey blue colour. They really contrast with the sunset in the sky.

Isn't it pretty? I wish the pictures showed how dainty these ornaments are - they're all gold and bright colours, and so delicate-looking. And yet, they still manage to survive my cats attacking the tree. :o\
