It's snowing
Jan. 18th, 2013 11:12 amWhen I spoke to Christine on Wednesday, she told me that the weather forecast was for snow, snow and more snow, though the BBC website had no mention of it. Yesterday, the carer who turned up (C, my usual carer, was off) mentioned snow - several inches, she said was forecast.
Today, there are some flakes, lazily drifting down from a cloudy sky. So now I'm waiting to see how deep it gets and hoping my parcels (booked for redelivery) still arrive.

Date: 2013-01-18 12:19 pm (UTC)The birds are going mad in the garden, especially the blackbirds after the sultanas I put out! Fortunately there are two bushes in our garden that tend not to get much snow beneath them (unless it snows really hard) and so I can put food out under them - and believe me, the blackbirds are fully aware of where the food is, by the looks of the arguing that's been going on! :) We even had a siskin yesterday and I've not seen one of them in my garden for a long time!!
It's supposed to be snowing much harder than this, so I'm not going to complain - they said 6 inches at one point, so I'll take this '1 cm at most' instead!
I think post people are pretty hardy, if the roads are clear you should get your parcel.

Date: 2013-01-18 09:10 pm (UTC)The snow's thickened up. There was quite a bit of it by 3.30 when my other parcels arrived.
I'm glad your birds can find food and shelter under your bushes. Poor birdies.
