Orange mobiles...not impressed
Jul. 30th, 2013 04:51 pmAs my new, emergency, mobile phone is rather temperamental, I decided to go ahead and buy a new, better phone. I finally picked a Galaxy Mini by Samsung, bought it from Orange, and it was delivered on Saturday.
At the same time, I'd bought £30 credit for it, as I was sticking to pay as you go. I don't use the phone enough for a monthly contract.
The phone is okay, but it wouldn't let me try ringing anyone to see how clear the calls were. Why? I didn't have enough credit on it.
I thought maybe I had to set up an account on the Orange website to activate my £30 credit - which had already been taken from my bank account. I set one up but the site kept on sending me back to the registration page, then wouldn't acknowledge my details when I tried to log in.
So I rang customer services. After far too many menus, I got told I needed to ring this other number. ::facepalm:: I rang them, made my way through another set of menus and got through to a rep, explained, then was told "you can't top up your credit on this line". I explained again, then he told me to email Payment.Processing@everythingeverywhere.com who would sort it out.
Their reply stated the address was for "receipt of remittance advices and correspondence with banks".
So, who knows? If I don't get a refund, I'll contact my bank and try that way.
To sum up: I'm totally unimpressed with Orange and, so far, my phone is still without credit.
