Okay, apparently the new version of post-dated posts is a 'sticky'...but you can only have one of them. I'll tag this as 'livejournal' instead so I can find it when I want it. Sheesh!

Go into your profile and hover your mouse over the word "profile" to get the drop down menu, then click "settings".
One of the first lines on that page is: "You can edit your account settings below. You may also want to edit your profile or your journal style".
Click on the link "journal style", then choose "customize your theme" (right half of the page, near the top).
There's a sub menu, on the left, on that page. Choose "entry text".
There's a line that says "Text to share this with a friend". Whatever text is in that box (mine said "share"), remove it and leave it blank, then save your changes.

Date: 2013-10-21 10:07 pm (UTC)I don't want my LJ to have an RSS feed, I don't want a share button, I don't want to have to use gmail or Facebook or whatever to log in and make a comment or to use my own blog. It is my content and the default should be hide it all, don't share it unless I</> choose to allow such things. Grrrrr.
There's a reason I have resisted creating a Facebook account and your previous post is part of it. I also find their privacy practices to be overly complicated and entirely too difficult to maintain. The consequence is I never know what is going on with several real life friends because instead of answering or writing emails, or calling they now post everything on Facebook. Sigh. I'm about to cave just because I miss knowing how they're doing. But I am not happy about it.

Date: 2013-10-22 09:33 pm (UTC)As for Facebook, I barely post anything on there but I make sure anything I do post is something I could post publically without any embarrassment.

Date: 2013-10-22 10:49 am (UTC)Thanks for the nice clear instructions - I'll take any opportunity I can to keep myself away from the likes of Facebook.
