9 – Pairings – For each of the fandoms from day two, what are your three favorite pairings to write?

Hmm... Another long answer required, though I doubt I can think of three pairings that I'd call favourite in most of my fandoms.

Garrison's Gorillas - I don't think I have favourite pairings in this. I like all the main characters and enjoyed writing about their different friendships with each other.

NCIS - Gibbs and Tony. I love the subtle hero worship that Tony has for Gibbs. I think Tony sees Gibbs as the kind of dad he wishes he had.

Tony and Kate. I loved the way they bickered. It wouldn't surprise me if there's a thousand AUs out there with Tony and Kate as siblings with Gibbs as their dad. I also like the relationship between Gibbs and Abby, but (like Tony and Kate) I've never written about it.

Person of Interest - Finch and Reese. Finch saved Reese by giving him a job, a purpose. In return, Reese gave his loyalty to Finch, along with his determination to protect him as much as possible. I laughed my socks off when Root kidnapped Finch for the second time, expressed her complete disdain for Reese (calling him Finch's pet) then she promptly and indignantly showed the same need to protect Finch. I don't think Finch appreciates it from either of them, really, which amuses me even more.

Reese and Fusco. Reese gave Fusco the chance for redemption, the chance to stop being a dirty cop. After almost getting Reese killed, Fusco went along with it, then rediscovered his pride in being one of the good guys.

Fusco and Carter. Reese put Fusco on the path to redemption, but Carter showed him what it was like being a good cop again. The scene where Fusco beats up Simmons then refuses to kill him because he won't throw away what Carter gave him made me cry. Go, Fusco! Carter would be proud of you.

Sherlock - Sherlock and John, of course. John has the patience of a saint to put up with Sherlock being Sherlock; it doesn't say much for his sanity though. :oD Sherlock... Oh, Sherlock. He's discovered what it's like to have a genuine friend. We've seen what he'll do to protect John from those (like Magnussen) who threaten him.

Sherlock and Mycroft. Despite Sherlock's anger and resentment towards Mycroft, Mycroft has an incredible loyalty to Sherlock and a deep need to protect him, which Sherlock resents the hell out of. Mycroft is an overbearing big brother, with the power and technology to keep a look out for his younger brother.

Mycroft and John. To John's dismay, he's discovered that being friends with Sherlock means being under Big Brother's eye. To Mycroft's surprise, John isn't afraid of strange men lurking in dimly-lit warehouses uttering vague threats. Well, he did invade Afghanistan after all.

Stargate: Atlantis - John and Rodney. I love their friendship, the way they bicker, and the way they always have each other's back. Don't kidnap and threaten Rodney or John will go all Dark Soldier on you. Don't try to kill John or Rodney will blow up your planet. It's simple, really.

The Hobbit - Bilbo and Thorin. Talk about being unimpressed with each other at first. The Shire has no kings, so directionally-challenged ones are even less impressive. As for Thorin, he really doubts Gandalf's burglar will be any good. Despite that, they become loyal to each other. Thorin will do all in his power to keep Bilbo alive, and Bilbo will do whatever he can to help Thorin take back his home.

(Don't get me started on the ending to The Hobbit. Sad endings are not for me and, in my mind, Bilbo often goes to visit his friends who are all living long, happy lives under a big mountain.)

The Sentinel - Jim and Blair. I know I like to play around with the whole Sentinel and Guide trope, but I think Jim sees Blair as a kind of little brother. One of those little brothers who are forever falling out of trees or into ponds or going up against bullies bigger than they are. As for Blair, I think he likes having a home and someone who'll watch his back (not that he'd admit to needing that), so it's only fair that he watches Jim's back in return, no matter how many times Jim shouts, "Stay in the truck!"

:oD The Genii should have smartened up and run far, far away from any of them. It would have been better for them.

Love what you wrote about SGA!!! I like what you wrote about TS too, but adored your wording on SGA so much more, it felt more 'them' if you know what I mean.

I've not watched much NCIS but I really like the Gibbs/Abby relationship on screen, and in fan-fiction I like the Gibbs/McGee pairing.
