Oct. 1st, 2015 05:19 pm13 – Do you prefer canon or fanon when you write? Has writing fanfic for a fandom changed the way you see some or even all of the original source material?
Canon...unless it's an actual AU. But fanon is interesting and I don't object to using it.
Yep, writing fanfic has changed the way I view TV programmes and films. If I really like something, I find myself analysing it more, focussing on plot holes and where a missing scene could fit in. It doesn't mean I'll write that missing scene but I'll most likely think about what would fit there. I also find myself considering 'what if's and how much that would change what I'm seeing.
