Starting Over.

8-yr-old John is 10-yr-old Sherlock's half-brother. The story has John going to live with Sherlock and Mycroft.

So why do I love it so much?

In parts, I identify with John in the story. As a kid, I wanted a family where people weren't angry with each other all the time. That's one reason.

Another is John and Sherlock as kids. They're adorable! I love the thought of Sherlock not being so alone growing up. Now he's got a little brother who likes tagging along after him, and admires his deductions and experiments, and thinks Sherlock is amazing. All that with an exasperated Mycroft who has to deal with a safe-cracking, over-curious 10-yr-old who thinks nothing of using the butler's pillow in an experiment with a rotting fish. Sherlock is hell-on-wheels and now he's equipped with a sidekick. A pint-sized, traumatised sidekick who's loving every minute of his new life.

Now tell me: Why wouldn't that be my favourite fic? :oD
