You remember my uncle's trying to convert me?

I was feeling wound up about it, so I went and donated to the Switchboard which offers support to GLBT people.

I feel better. I'm planning on donating every time he winds me up this much.

Not sure what to say about your uncle, other than he thinks he's doing evengelism, but he actually he's forcing his opinions onto another person and trying to make them convert. That's browbeating, not talking about faith, and I'm sorry you have to put up with it.

Thanks, Leesa. *hugs tightly* My uncle is completely over the top with his religion - to a concerning degree. He told me, a few years ago, "God chooses holy people to speak through and I'm one of those people."

I know a number of people with very deeply held beliefs, and none of them would act this way.

You're right you shouldn't have to. He should respect your views and beliefs, even if they differ from his own. I hope when you do tackle this matter with him that sits up and take notice.
