The BBC website has an article about The Power of the Daleks, one of the lost episodes.

Saturday is the 50th anniversary of The Power of the Daleks, Troughton's debut.

To mark the anniversary, BBC Worldwide is releasing a black-and-white animated reconstruction of the "lost" story, based on surviving photographs and audio recordings.

There's also part of an interview with Anneke Wills.

That's what we missed at the BFI on Saturday, they were showing the first 3 episodes and the DVD was included in the ticket price.

At least it didn't cost us anything, one of the BFI membership benefits is ticket refunds.

Yes, believe it's released soon and the BBC store is selling downloads - though won't do that!

A friend of mine bought a download (though I think she could only stream the file) from the BBC store. Later, her money was refunded and the file was no longer available to watch. Does that often happen?

Sorry, no idea, I don't use any streaming services, prefer to watch things on TV from the comfort of my sofa. 😃

I have mixed feelings regarding animated episodes (they creep me out because I know what they're supposed to look like!!), but it is pretty exciting news all round. I've heard the audio and it's one of my favourites even without pictures, so I hope this will get other people to enjoy it too. :-)

It's luckily not just an iconic moment, but a genuinely good serial.
