I'm not aware of any specific story. I found the image on Google, but the pages linked to the image had it posted with the "In Flanders Fields" poem. I don't know if it's specifically linked to the poem.

The song I was referring to is "La guerra di Piero" by Fabrizio De André.

In short, it talks about a young men that during a war dies in a poppy field.
