Major Crimes. It's a sequel to "The Closer", which I haven't seen, and focuses on the work and lives of the Major Crimes personnel in the LAPD.

Some of the stories are heartbreaking and some you're pretty well rooting for the killer.

There's also a long-running story arc about Rusty, a 15 year old who witnessed a murder and who's staying with the police captain while they wait for the trial to begin.

It's not on Netflix yet, but it's available to buy on Amazon Video.

Favourite characters so far: Lt. Provenza (G. W. Bailey) who complains about everything and Detective Sanchez (Raymond Cruz) who has a very hot temper.

I recommend The Closer - Kyra Sedgwick is excellent in it. And the Provenza-Flynn double act in it is top notch. I've not seen all the series of it, I got distracted by other things. But it's when Kyra Sedgwick left that it mutated into Major Crimes. I've only seen one ep of the spin-off, because Joe Flanigan was in it.

I watched the Joe Flanigan ep this morning! It wasn't one of the best episodes but I enjoyed it. Some of the scenes were funny.

I might check out The Closer later. It'll be weird seeing the characters before Major Crimes.

I think you'll particularly enjoy the later series of The Closer when Brenda's parents - especially her mum - come into it.

Why I really love the character is because she's a real woman who struggles with chocolate and diet and weight, but is also kickass at her job.

Love Major Crimes, one of our favourite shows. We're currently in the middle of season 5 - it airs on the Universal chanel via Sky - and it's still as good and fun as it was when it started.

I noticed it being advertised on Channel 5, for their US channel (that is, UK channel showing US shows). It does look interesting and is on my 'to check out' list, probably in summer when the number of shows I watch lessons.

There's a story arc that carries on from the previous series, The Closer. Aside from that, it's pretty much standalone. It really is a lot of fun, and interesting too.

This is my all time favorite show. I have four seasons, I still will need the fifth. I watch it over and over again. Mind you, I loved the Closer, but not as much as Major Crimes. Provenza and Sanchez are my favorites too. I do hope they renew it for another year after the last 10 episodes. That's how many are left in Season Five. I love Rusty and SHaron.

It's a fun series, is it? Some of the stories are completely heartbreaking though. I'm really enjoying it.

Sometimes you need a heartbreaking story. So far they haven't renewed it for next year and this isn't a good sign. Dang it. I'm going to be pissed if they cancel. It's a very good show, with a super cast. Who would think that G.W. Bailey would finally get past his Police Academy movies? I had no idea that he could really act and act he does. I love Provenza so much. Actually, there is no one I don't really like.

I remembered G.W. Bailey from the Mannequin film - he played Felix the security guard - so I was thrilled to see him in this. Provenza's so funny.

Very nice tv show!
I watched both series on tv, not all episode, but some. I like them both, and I love Rusty storyline also because it started in the last episodes of The Closer and made a kind of continuity with Major Crimes.
I love Provenza too :), but my favourite character is Captain Raydor.
