The BBC has an article about why stationery is still being bought.

Quote:
Lisa Rutherford, buying manager at John Lewis, agrees that stationery is a "fashion accessory" these days...

And, she adds, you don't need to feel guilty about spending the money because stationery is useful. It's a virtuous purchase.

Ha! See? *pats stack of notebooks and beams proudly*

Great article, thank you! I can't imagine ever not scribbling things in notebooks - there's something so reassuring about messy lists and half-formed ideas. Not to mention the smell and feel of paper. Erm, I might have a very slight addiction, yes.

Just a slight one, then? :oD

I'm with you. I love notebooks especially with lovely patterned covers.

I'm a mix od writing lists and things down, and using the computer or sometimes my phone (which is not smart). I still have stationery, but not lots of it. Still, it comes in useful sometimes and I'd hate to see it disappear, so I'm glad there are diehard fans and fashionistas that use notebooks and such like!! And we'll always need pens, surely?

I guess we won't need pens if all letter writing and cards become emails and ecards. I can't see it happening though!

:D When I was a kid, one of my favourite things to get for Christmas was a WH Smith's voucher! (I have no idea if they even make them anymore). Despite being an ardent bookworm, I would usually spend it downstairs, and could cheerfully spend an age wandering about looking at all the stationery.

You can see why I didn't have any friends, can't you. ;)

You needed the right sort of friends - ones who'd browse the stationery aisle with you! ♥

I do love stationery and think it's worth spending a bit more on a quality product.
