5 Have you ever fallen down stairs?

Urgh, yes! In the last place I lived, there was a set of really steep stairs with a short spiral at the bottom. The spiral bit was sided by a wall.

I slipped at the top, skidded down the stairs on my side (so my right thigh hit every step), then crashed into the wall at the bottom. I could hear my mum panicking in her bedroom - she was disabled and couldn't get downstairs - so I shouted I was okay, then hobbled off to the sofa where I managed to avoid fainting.

The bruise on my right thigh was amazing in size and colour.

I have fallen down stairs, quite a lot, due to stupid childhood shenanigans. Worst was probably when I was about four, when I landed on my back, and winded myself. I decided I wasn't going to do that again! Falling down stairs is very Not Good (although swinging from the banisters just about makes up for it).

(Btw, this is nerthus from lj, ha!)Yikes, that sounds terrible! I fell down the concrete stairs between the bleacher seats in a school gym at age 10, caught my toe somehow and just went crashing from the top all the way down to the edge of the bleachers (which incidentally were high up off the court so if a man hadn't leaped up and caught me I would have rolled on off the edge and fallen quite a few feet down to the court on top of falling down the stairs!) Since the steps were concrete I was a black and blue mess for days and scraped up, and I badly sprained my ankle. I just remember the panicked feeling when I knew I was falling and out of control and felt like a rag doll with a rampaging heart beat flopping helplessly down the stairs.

I think that its because I practiced martial arts almost my entire adult life (until I blew the knees) that I'm not hurt or really injured. I just get really embarrassed.
