I suspect a lot of us have people on this list because, at the time, you don't realize that you're going to continue to see them and then, as the questions says, it's too late to ask.

Yeah, it gets really awkward.

I also have this problem with the district nurses as there are so many of them. I've given up on feeling awkward and just ask their name anyway.
