6. What do you wish you spent more time doing five years ago?

Writing. I could still type using the actual keyboard then (instead of using the mouse to type on an onscreen keyboard as I do now). Now I type about 10 words a minute so it takes me forever to write a story. My typing wasn't super fast 5 years ago as I was typing with one finger on my left hand and most of my fingers on my right, but it was quicker than this.

That must be terribly frustrating. Have you tried voice-operated software? Some writers find that they can't write stories that way, which I can understand. Speaking and writing, to me, are entirely different things! But as speech recognition software improves, it could be a good way to write.

Thanks, it is! I really don't think I could write stories that way. I'd love to use voice to text for writing online posts though. Sometimes, I can't face catching up on DW/LJ because of how freaking long it takes me to type replies.

Then I see people (not you!) ignore my comment while replying to someone who replied later than me and I want to scream at the energy wasted in posting that ignored comment.

I can't begin to imagine. I completely understand how sometimes replying might seem like too much bother. Maybe voice control is something that you can explore at some point. I know it's been pretty pricey in the past, but tech prices are coming down, happily.
