17. If you were chosen to be the first human to make contact with aliens, would you want to?

Not really. I'm too suspicious and would be waiting for it all to turn into the mini series V.

16. If you had to create an alias or pseudonym for work purposes, what name would you use?

I use a variety of names on my game profiles: Zara, Mara, Megan, Arnie. So probably one of them.
dimity_blue: My cat Daisy (Daisy)
Today is 4 years to the day since Daisy came to live with me. She was a scrawny little 1 year old with straggly fur, but she took to living with me like she knew this was where she was meant to be. I wouldn't be without her.

Happy birthday, my Daisy!

Pictures under the cut.

13. What's a popular vacation spot you have no interest whatsoever in visiting?

Australia. I know it's a beautiful country with many natural wonders, but all I think about are the giant and/or poisonous spiders its home to and I know I will never voluntarily go there.

ITV hub

I subscribed to ITV hub via Amazon because it had a number of series I wanted to watch. As it turns out, the subscription is a bit hit and miss. You click on a season only to find half the eps aren't available. You go back the next day and find the ep you were halfway through isn't available any more.

There's a lot of 70s/80s stuff (yay), but far more reality series than I thought even existed. I'm not a fan.

I think I'll watch what I can and then cancel it.

On the plus side, seasons 3 and 4 of The Professionals are now available to buy on Amazon Video. I wonder when seasons 1, 2, and 5 will follow.

Another plus, I managed to catch Ken Colley's ep of Poirot (The Disappearance of Mr. Davenheim) before that, too, disappeared. The ending was very obvious but Ken Colley acted his socks off, so I enjoyed it. He also got to wear a big fake beard.
dimity_blue: My cat Daisy (Daisy)
A couple of weeks ago, I noticed Daisy had a big knot of hair between her back legs, so I contacted Jan, the groomer I've used previously. Fortunately for me and Daisy, Jan was able to fit us in yesterday.

Jan wore protective gear and we manoeuvred around the flat to get her into the sitting room and me in the hall while maintaining social distancing. Daisy must have thought we were bonkers!

Daisy enjoyed most of her grooming, though she protested long and loud over Jan clipping her inner leg to remove that dratted knot. It was done at last though and it must have been causing Daisy some pain as it restricted her leg movement.

Check under the cut for a couple of pictures of Daisy the ever beautiful.

I woke up (again) at 7.45 and buzzed for a nurse. When I asked about getting up, I was told the hoist was broken so they couldn't hoist me. They'd told the ward manager. I asked if they couldn't get an emergency hoist from somewhere. "No, I don't think so." Then the nurse ran away.

Yesterday's Google Doodle was to honour the birthday of Sir Nicholas Winton, hero of the Czech Kindertransport.

Today's is for the birthday of Israel Kamakawiwoʻole, aka Bruddah Iz. If you haven't heard him sing, go listen. He has the gentlest of voices.
