1. What is your birthstone and flower?

April is diamond, which I find expensive and boring. I'd rather have a coloured stone.

According to this site, Aries - my Zodiac sign - is Bloodstone. Um. I'll stick to diamonds. (Or just keep on ignoring it all.)

As for my flower, according to this site, April is daisy and sweet pea. That's far better!

Lots of diamonds are coloured! (Though generally this means they're worth less, due to the impurities that cause the colouring.) Probably the most famous coloured diamond is the Hope Diamond, which is blue.

Bloodstone is cool. Its proper name is heliotrope. It's not called bloodstone for grim reasons - it's just that it was believed to have powers, as a lot of stones have through myth and history. Bloodstone was supposed to staunch blood flow, and was often carried as a talisman to prevent injury. It's green, frequently with red bits, though also other colours. I have a bit that is green with grey markings. IIRC it was also supposed to be used by ancient magicians for invisibility. :)

Just a little bit cheaper, yes. :D Actually, I have seen April's birthstone written as cubic zircona, which is a lookie-likie crystal, much cheaper than diamonds, and easily coloured, so it looks as though lots of people share your opinion!
