Today's book is Through the Wall by Patricia Wentworth.

Marion Brand is astonished to discover she's inherited a fortune from an unknown uncle. It also comes with a house - two houses really - but the adjoining house has some relatives still living in it, and her uncle's will warned they might be difficult to dislodge.

Marion's the only heir, despite the equal claim of her frail sister, Ina. Ina's wastrel husband is angry she was left out of the will, while the difficult to dislodge relatives are annoyed at the change in their circumstances too.

It's lucky Miss Silver's on hand to investigate when a dead body turns up nearby wearing Marion's coat.

I like the Miss Silver mysteries and this one is a particular favourite.

I read that as Marlon Brando. Then got a bit confused as the sentence progressed.

With a lot more guns. And Miss Silver played by Al Pacino.

No, not my kind of thing. I can definitely get behind Pacino as a dowdy Edwardian governess though!
