Did anyone else read about this?

Two radio hosts thought it was fitting (though they later claimed it was a 'joke') to give a hate-filled rant against transgender children. One of the hosts said that he'd beat his son with one of his own shoes if the boy ever dared to wear high heels.

When their female co-host protested, they replied: "You're actually defending allowing people to become freaks? A boy who wants to wear a dress is a freak. A nut."

I'm just...what is it with people? Seriously. I don't understand the level of hatred someone can have for someone they've never even met.

According to the comments posted, KRXQ radio has lost (so far) 3 advertising contracts - with Snapple/Dr. Pepper, Chipotle and Sonic.

I think so too. I hope more advertisers refuse to deal with them.

God, people make me sick sometimes. Makes you wonder if our species will EVER develop anythin approaching true tolerance, forebearance, and love for their fellow beings.

I think these type of people are a minority - unfortunately, they're a vocal minority.

Transgender or transvestite? Just curious about their particular point. And a lot of dumb would-be shock-jocks try to make their fame and fortune through drawing in an audience based upon mutual hates rather than anything entertaining. You've heard of Rush Limbaugh, the icon of our Republican Party :-)

Money is always at the heart of it with a solid icing of stupidity. But many make a fortune doing it.

Transgender, though I know that guy's comments make it sound like he's talking about transvestites.

If enough companies withdraw their sponsorship, they won't be making any fortune. And they've already tried to pass it off as a 'joke', so maybe they're thinking that too.

I never understood the mentality that thought hurting someone was funny. I hope they lose a few more contracts.

I hope they lose them all! Honestly, what's it to them that someone they don't know and have never met has a sex change?

I hope they lose more contracts. The only way to make tose guys pay attention is to hurt their bottom line

Too right! The radio station must be getting worried - the guys have already tried to backtrack and claim it was a 'joke'. ::roll eyes::
