Facebook follies

I'm only on Facebook for the games, so I considered playing Christmas Tree Light Up. At least, I considered it until I saw this little snippet in the request for permission box:

"Post to Facebook as me
Christmas Tree Light Up may post status messages, notes, photos and videos on my behalf"

Why oh why would I want to let an app post *as me*?!

Actually, now I'm wondering what exactly it'd be posting:

Sarah is playing Christmas Tree Light Up.
Sarah thinks Christmas Tree Light Up is the best game ever.
Sarah wishes all her friends would play Christmas Tree Light Up.

And on and on. Hopefully there wouldn't be any posts about "Sarah played Christmas Tree Light Up so much she's now stranded in London and needs her friends to send her money ASAP!"

I can never work out Facebook's long-term agenda, or even if there is one, though I suspect the worst *g* I treat it with deep suspicion, a false ID and a long pointy stick :D

I gave up on Facebook games ages ago, now I'm glad that I did, because, no, funnily enough, most people don't want an app to post disguised as them!!

I'm only there cos my friends are and my SK regiment does a lot of arranging in it, but I hate it and never allow an app to access anything. And I'm not happy with Google either after they created a YouTube account for me because I have Gmail. If I wanted an account I'd make one - and there is no way to delete it....

I have issues with Google and YouTube too! I used my old gmail address for YouTube and now I can't swap it to my newer gmail address...for reasons unknown. It just throws a fit every time I try. ::has given up:: It still throws a fit when I log into YouTube, but it lets me in after a couple of goes.

I stopped using Facebook after my account got hacked. That really put me off it.
