Unashamedly swiped from E Online.

Naturally, Gwyn was there, looking as pigeon-toed as ever:

As a bonus, there was sideboob due to the narrow bodice and some kind of WTFery on her hips. What amazes me is that that thing undoubtedly costs a small fortune.

But Gwyneth wasn't even the worst dressed! I know, she tries so hard. Check out these ones:

I like Christina Ricci, probably because she played Wednesday Addams so darned well, but what the hell is she wearing? It looks like two dresses put together, with the excess material of the peach one just flappin' around in the breeze.

Kristen Stewart seems to have gone for four different lots of material. At least they're actually sewn into one dress, so that makes it okay, right?

That's Carey Mulligan (no, I have no idea who she is either), apparently going as a well-dressed robot. ::boggles::

Elizabeth Banks apparently decided to top Christina and Kristen by having what looks like four entirely separate bits of dress in one go. And what on earth is going on with that front bustle? Victorian women wore them around the back, not poking out at the front.

Florence Welch who is (so far as I can tell from her dress) currently appearing as a fairy on top of a Christmas tree.

See? I told you Gwyneth wasn't the worst dressed!

You need to check out the 'style' site:http://style.icanhascheezburger.com/

Wouldn't surprise me to see these dresses on it sometime soon!! :)

EDIT: In fact, the robot dress is on already - did you notice the fish scales!

LOL! Thanks for the link, Leesa. I just re-uploaded the pics to Imageshack as the originals came out so small, so you can see even more details now.

I missed the fish scales on the robot dress!

LOL! Almost normal indeed.

I've just uploaded the pics and posted them from Imageshack as Photobucket made them so small, for some reason. They're even more glorious now!

WTF indeed! They just kept getting worse. I thought the snake scales/robot dress couldn't be topped (bottomed?) until I saw the last one Ewwww!

And the saddest part is they probably paid a mini-fortune for each of them.

That's the thing that astonishes me! The dresses look like a steaming pile of crap but they cost thousands! The gall of the designers. Sometimes I think they *must* be having a laugh, producing the direst-looking dress possible just to see if some idiot will buy it.

Ah Gwynnie, holding up the tradition. I didn't see a pic with the side view, I'll have to go look again. ;-)

Christina, she put all that work into slimming down & then wears this train wreck. and that giant peach things makes her head look like a bobble head.

But its not half as much of a train wreck as Kristin who looks like home ec 101 can bad. Florence -- good lord where do you start? That bodice & her breasts are horrible, not to mention the rest of the dress.

Carey Mulligan's dress isn't totally unfortunate, though the bad hair dye is. She did a highly regarded movie several years ago, you might know her as Sally Sparrow in the DW episode "Blink" (one of my all time fave eps for all that the Doctor is only in it for 6 minutes or so).

Yes! Home Ec 101! It's an exercise in stitching with different fabrics.

No, I still don't know Carey Mulligan. To be honest, I don't recognise half the actors who are famous now. :oD

You can tell that she apparently doesn't have a stylist for this type of thing, whereas someone else dresses her in the movies, because she was in Avengers and looks fab the couple of main scenes she's in. And she's barefoot in both as well.

Can you imagine if they allowed stars to dress themselves in movies? Tons of them seem to have a skewed idea of stylish!
