sallymn gave reminded me of this.
T - Do you have any hard and fast head canons that you will die defending?
Blake's 7, Gouda Prime.
Spoilers for the last ep.
No one died.
It was all a plot by Servalan. Every single member of Blake's 7 (including Blake) would wake to be told they were the only survivor. Servalan was too vindictive to just kill them. She'd want the headrush of knowing they were living but broken. So...
There they are, individually imprisoned, being used for manual labour/used for their abilities. Natually, at least one escapes. Probably Vila, as he deliberately makes himself look as harmless as possible while picking your pocket for what he needs to undo the prison locks. Once out, he fakes an identity and tries to fly under the radar. But he hears rumours. Finally, curioity (and alcohol) get the better of him and he digs around a little. Only to discover the others aren't dead.
He manages to rescue one - possibly Avon. Tells Avon they've all been lied to, then Vila ducks for cover while Avon uses guile, cunning, lies, computers, and any handy stooges to get the rest out. He'll leave Blake till last because he's still pissed at him.
Then they all set off for more series of Blake's 7.

Date: 2016-11-07 02:13 pm (UTC)I'm glad you like my fix it idea. I hate the thought of them all being dead, though B7 wasn't shy about killing off main characters.
Plus, I love the idea of Vila pointing Avon towards the bad guys then running for cover himself!

Date: 2016-11-07 03:36 pm (UTC)Between episode 12 and that last episode (that now will not happen), they don't go looking for Blake, but head to 'somewhere they decide is a good place to hide for a while'. But somehow, Vila ends up in the hands of the Federation (but not via Servalan). Even with Orac, they can't find him. The president has taken an interest for 'reasons to be explained one day' and Vila disappears.
Vila is sent to a reasearch facility, where they attempt all sorts of programming/mind-breaking stuff. They eventually come up with a scenario very similar to the final episode, and make Vila believe it is true. Blake is dead, killed by Avon, and the others also die.
Eventually, the president decides to send Vila to a penal colony (one we haven't heard of in canon), where the real Blake was sent a couple of years earlier under a different name (not sure who did that, possibly Servalan). Vila has a tracker that also records sound. The experiment is still ongoing, you see!
Blake finds a very confused Vila, who's been dumped there all on his own, and of course Vila completely freaks out.
Cue lots of angsty stuff, as Blake finds out what Vila thought he saw, the programming starts to break down, Vila realises it was all a lie, but he's so, so messed up and Blake has to, at the start anyway, keep him tied up so he doesn't run off and get into trouble with other prisoners. This stops as Vila starts to come out of it.
Avon and co find out what happened to Vila via someone telling them/something happening/Orac finding a lead/whatever. They go to the research facility (teaming up with Avalon, remember her? So she and her rebels can deal with any test subjects they find (ie find them help), and Avon and co can find out what happened to Vila and, also, get some revenge before blowing the place up *cue lots of shooting and Dayna blowing things up*).
They use the tracker to find Vila. They know Blake is with him (sound recordings, right?) and have an idea of what has been happening.
Blake, Vila, Avon and co are reunited. Vila's still a mess, so isn't sure at first they are real, but hey, poor Vila's been through hell and back, so it's to be expected.
Not sure how I'd end the fic. But would like to leave it more optimistic and 'Vila will get past this' sort of thing! There's the whole 'what and why' regarding the president that I'd have to deal with too. Maybe he knew Vila in the past and this is some kind of revenge for something? After all, we don't know all that much about Vila's past, and what he says in canon can't always be trusted to be true... (I have this headcanon where he started out as an Alpha, lol!)
Not that I've ever thought about any of this, of course. I mean, I'm not even in that fandom anymore! :D

Um, yeah. Vila is not the most truthful guy!

Date: 2016-11-10 05:51 pm (UTC)Of course, my oddest idea had Vila as half-alien, half-human and also the half-brother of Avon (who is fully human), lol! Probably as well I never wrote that one! :)

Date: 2016-11-11 02:52 pm (UTC)I've always liked the idea that Vila knows he's related to Avon, but doesn't tell him for Reasons, so not only is there the shock of finding out, but the knowledge that Vila knew and didn't tell him!! Oh yeah, lots of fun to be had with that scenario!! :D

Date: 2016-11-06 01:39 pm (UTC)(I don't mind people dying on GP, especially Blake, because it fits - I like crying over them all. Jumping to the wrong post, this is probably why people enjoy deathfic, although I only liek it with canon deaths, not in fanfic. I do like a good canon death; I'm a Spooks-fan. And AUs where they have their cake and eat it and kill people but they're all alive in the proper timeline.)

Date: 2016-11-07 02:17 pm (UTC)I'm glad you like it, though I'm surprised no one's already written it. If anything, I expected to be told, "That's the plot of suchnsuch's x fic."

Date: 2016-11-06 08:18 pm (UTC)Except Blake, as Avon shot him, and there was lots of blood (also Gareth Thomas said he'd only do the episode if they made it very clear he was very dead. But even then, it's your head canon, so...)
I actually love the ending, as it's very fitting, but at the same time, I also love the idea of them surviving, and always have. Your version sort of works both ways! I am liking it. :)

Date: 2016-11-07 02:22 pm (UTC)And it'd be easy enough to leave Blake actually dead in that scenario too. :oD
