1 Is there a catchphrase from an old TV show or adverts that hardly anyone else remembers but that you still use?

Oh, lots!

A particular favourite is from a Billy Connolly routine and is applied to anything involving money. The original was (with a Cockney accent):

"You can buy fousands and fousands of Smarties for £40 a week."

Elaine (my aunt) and I say it to each other, replacing the £40 with whatever sum we're talking about.

I don't remember that particular one but I always found Billy Connolly funny although the notion of him doing a Cockney accent is terrifying! :D

It wasn't that much of a Cockney accent! It was when he was talking about a TV ad for joining the army. I found it on YouTube. It starts at the 7 minute mark.

And it turns out we've been getting it wrong. It's, "You can buy fousands and fousands of Smarties for £40."
