3 Has anyone ever told you that you're getting too competitive over minor things?

Not specifically. Someone once said I'm very competitive when I play games. It's true, and I hate that, so I try not to be.


What about you guys. Are you competitive? If so, over what?

1 Have there been any periods in your life that could be described as being chaotic?

Yes, now. Dealing with having carers is pretty awful. I have 4 calls a day and no guaranteed time for any of them.

My morning call is around 7.15...unless someone's called in sick, in which case it could get to 8am. One time, it was almost 9am before they arrived. My lunch call is usually between 11.40 and 12.30......unless something's gone wrong. My tea call is supposed to be around 4.15 but it can be any time from 3.45 to 4.45. If the carers have decided to do the run in a different order, my call can be any time up until 5.30. The one time it was 6.30 seems to have been a one off, thankfully. My bed call was 9.50, then it became 10.30, but now it tends to be 9pm.

The district nurse is now coming 3 times a week (Mon/Wed/Fri) instead of every day, but they can turn up any time at all. Or not turn up because they got too busy but forgot to let me know.

I feel like I spen all day waiting for the repairman. It drives me insane and there's nothing I can do about it.

Another car question I can't answer. Instead, I'll answer:

Who taught you how to knit? My Grandma, I think.

Who taught you how to crochet? My Mum, but I was pretty bad at it.

Who taught you how to crossstitch? I picked it up from a book.

Who taught you how to play the piano? My piano teacher, Miss Dodd.

I've just finished watching Agatha Christie's A Murder is Announced which boasts an impressive cast list.

Aside from Joan Hickson as Miss Marple, there's John Castle as Detective Inspector Craddock, Kevin Whately as Detective Sergeant Fletcher, Ursula Howells as Miss Blacklock, David Collings as Reverend Harmon, and darling Joan Sims as Miss Murgatroyd.

The story runs thus: Miss Blacklock is astonished to read in the local newspaper that a murder is announced and it will take place in her sitting room that night at 7pm. Friends are urged to accept this, the only invitation.

Accordingly, her friends and neighbours turn up at her house, expectng a game of murder.

What they get is the lights going out at 7pm, a light being shone in their eyes, and three shots from a gun. The lights are turned back on and they find two bullet holes in the wall where Miss Blacklock was standing, Miss Blacklock covered in blood from a nick in her ear, and the masked assailant dead on the floor.

Did he trip and shoot himself? Did someone hire him to kill Miss Blacklock? Why would anyone want Miss Blacklock dead?

It's a good book, and the Joan Hickson version is an excellent adaptation. It's well acted, rather enthralling, and kept me captivated all the way through. But I have a major issue with the story, or rather with one of the characters that really annoys me.
