The 1921 England & Wales Census is now available! But it's not available on Ancestry UK.

According to Birmingham Live:

=The 1921 England and Wales census records aren’t currently available on Ancestry because the National Archives has signed an exclusive deal with Findmypast.

Researchers from Findmypast have spent three years delving into and digitising the findings of the 1921 census, which consists of 28,000 physical volumes.

Viewing the 1921 census on Findmypast costs £3.50 for every original record image and £2.50 for every record transcript.

Findmypast subscribers get a 10% discount on any purchases from the 1921 census.=

There's also an article on the BBC about some of the secrets revealed by the census. It includes a bit about DL Sayers.

Mike Nesmith of The Monkees has gone to the great beyond. I know he was 78 but it still makes me sad.

I really like this song of his. The vid has a lot of cute pics of him too.

Just A Little Love.

Godspeed, sir.

In this post, I wrote about my failed attempts to download the albums I bought as downloads from Amazon UK. It really looked as if I was going to have to download my music one track at a time.

Then I discovered I could download the albums via the My Orders page!

See? However, a search for a specific group etc. got me a page without the download button:

I spent a lot of time yesterday scrolling through years of orders in order to find the downloads. It seems to have stopped working during the orders from 2013, but at least I got all the downloads from then on.

Wow, Amazon doesn't make it easy, does it? Remember my new computer? Of course I wasn't going to save all my downloaded music to a flash drive to put on my new computer. I could just go and download all my music again. No muss, no fuss! Click a few buttons and off I go. Right?

No.

Amazon have their own music app, which you can download. Only I never liked the clunky interface so I download the music directly to my pc and stick in my music. Only now Amazon really wants you to use that app.

You can download your music directly...but it's track by every single track. Click the menu dots, click download, click download directly, and there you go! 3 clicks per track multiplied by tracks on the album multiplied by however many albums you've bought.

This might take awhile.

Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased) is on Britbox! I subscribe via Amazon but it should be on actual Britbox too.

Link.

I recently started watching The Big Bang Theory. I'm so glad I did as some of the episodes are absolutely hilarious.

The one with the Physics conference (where Sheldon and Leonard have had a huge falling out) had me ROFL, especially the ending.

I was sure the voice of Howard's mom was provided by the actress who played Estelle (Joey's agent) in Friends. I was wrong. Estelle was played by June Gable while Carol Ann Susi provided Howard's mom's voice. I'm glad I looked it up though, because I read Carol Ann Susi's IMDb biography and it mentioned:

After she passed away, the cast and crew of The Big Bang Theory (2007) glued a tiny photo of her to their fridge in Sheldon's original apartment so that she would be in every episode thereafter.
